SHIELD COLOR

COMPANY

Life in Color

The founder of the company, Chong-geun Lim, was a fine arts painter born in 1938.
Disappointed at the low quality of paints prevalent in the early 70s in Korea, he decided to make his own paints and started his research from 1974.
He collected information traveling to the US and Japan and devoted all his resources in studying oil colors.
After numerous trials and errors, he was able to found San-Geun Chemials in 1978, which later changed its name to Shield Colors Co., Ltd.

“To complete the artwork is not a tool but a passion” is the moto Shield Colors has been upholding for
the past 40 years. Therefore although the company has endeavored to produce high quality products with the best materials,
it has always made conscious efforts to minimize the marketing expenses melting into increasing the price of its products.

Shield Colors has been walking a single path as a paint manufacture since 1978. When the industry was caught up in
controversy over toxic face paints in the Korean market in 2013, Shield Color (Zenith) was the only domestic company found
negative for barium and to pass the safety evaluation test.

Shield colors Co., Ltd. is at present the third largest paint manufacturing company in Korea. In terms of domestic sales,
it stands second in oil colors, but first in face paints, glitter glue, textile paints and craftwork paints.
